Communism Survivor: Defend Your Gun Rights to the Death

April 9, 2013

Manuel Martinez, a man who escaped to America from communist Cuba gave a passionate speech explaining why gun rights absolutely necessary.

His experiences seeing unarmed people ruled over by tyrants is surreal — and yet it’s happened over and over throughout history. You can watch the video below, after the following quote:

“I’ve been through it. I’ve been there. You people don’t know what freedom is because you never lost it! You haven’t been tortured. You haven’t been [SIC] assassinations. You haven’t been — mothers begging for the life of their son not to be killed because the only reason is they want is to be free. And they killed the mothers, and they killed the son.”

Watching this makes me angry in a way I find difficult to even describe. This is not theoretical. This is real. On a personal level, let me make this as clear as I can: I will never disarm myself. It’s a question of principle, it’s a question of safety, and a question of liberty.

Anyone who wants to disarm only you and not the government is someone who wants to make you a slave. This isn’t just angry rhetoric, this is real. They are the enemy — and we must challenge them without ever letting up.

Americans are polling more pro-gun than they’ve been in years. Why? Because online activism allows us to challenge them — even if the media won’t. Let’s make this man’s testimony go viral. Remember, Bloomberg is dumping millions into an anti-gun campaign, but he can’t outspend us if we simply do grassroots activism.
